About RestorationGapFinder

RestorationGapFinder is a web application that helps roofing and restoration contractors catch the line items an insurance adjuster's estimate left out. You upload the adjuster's estimate — from Xactimate, Symbility, or a plain PDF scan — and the tool reads every line, checks it against building-code requirements and your job photos using a rules engine and a short questionnaire, and returns an adjuster-ready gap report of what appears to be missing, each item with a code reference and a written justification.

Who operates it

The service is built and operated by DohouGroup, a sole proprietorship registered in Ontario, Canada, doing business as RestorationGapFinder. We are an independent software company; we are not an insurer, a public adjuster, or a law firm, and the product is an information tool rather than legal, code, or insurance advice.

What we believe

A supplement request should make an omission legible, not argue about money. That is why the report we export lists item names, quantities, and justifications only — never dollar figures. The amounts belong on the carrier's own price list. Our job is to surface what the scope missed and explain why it belongs, so the conversation with the adjuster stays about scope.

How we handle your data

The estimates and photos you upload are used only to analyze the estimate and produce your report. They are encrypted, isolated per organization, and automatically purged 90 days after a claim closes — and you can delete them sooner from Settings. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
